Important Uniform Update-- All uniform sales and deliveries should now be up to date. All students are now required to be in the appropriate uniform no later than Wednesday, September 9 (Mass uniforms). Dear Parents, Guardians, Faculty and Staff, After carefully monitoring the developing weather situation through the evening, we have made the decision to close school tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1. As conditions and forecasts have continued to change, we have reassessed our earlier decision and believe closing is the safest choice for our staff, students and families. We know a change in this decision affects your work schedules, child care and transportation for tomorrow and we thank you for your grace and understanding when difficult decisions and adjustments like this must be made. Our priority will always be to err on the side of caution when conditions worsen, as they have this evening, and choose the path that best protects our school communities. Just an FYI for families! We will have healthcare professionals on campus Wednesday and Thursday to complete our required hearing, vision, and scoliosis screenings for students.

No action is needed from parents; we just wanted to give you a heads-up that these screenings will be taking place on campus this week!

Some quick corrections for our StuCo campaign:
1. Students will need to turn in campaign materials to Mrs. Hadnott for approval no later than Wednesday 8/19
2. Students will campaign on 8/20 through 8/26
3. Election day will remain 8/27

Aftercare will be held in our Technology Center. When picking up your child, please go to the gate by the playground on the main campus. The phone number for aftercare pickup will be posted on the street-facing side of the gate. Please call the number, and a staff member will verify your identity and bring your child to you.

Dear Parents,

We have several exciting opportunities coming up for our 5th–8th grade students! I’ve attached information about Student Council, as well as opportunities to participate in athletics.

If your child is interested in sports this year, please complete the attached interest form this week. It is important that we have an idea of participation numbers so we can determine whether we have enough students to form teams for boys’ and girls’ basketball, co-ed soccer, and co-ed track.

Correction! The streets were reversed in the carline notice sent yesterday. We have attached a document with a map for a visual aid. We have also updated page 38 of the handbook outlining carline directions. This was done to accommodate a longer line that stays off of MLK. Meet the Teacher Reminder

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone for Meet the Teacher! Please see the schedule below:

PK3–2nd Grade
8:00–9:00 AM – Drop off school supplies and meet your child’s teacher
9:00–10:30 AM – Parent Meeting in the Cafeteria

3rd–8th Grade
10:30 AM–12:00 PM – Drop off school supplies and meet your child’s teachers

Please begin in your child’s homeroom.
You will have approximately 10 minutes with each teacher.

12:00–1:30 PM – Parent Meeting in the Cafeteria

If you attended the earlier parent meeting, you do not need to attend this one again.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back and getting the new school year started!
